Board the 150-passenger M/V Fair-weather
Express for your cruise to this remote
setting in Haines, where you will traverse
the waterways of the Lynn Canal while
viewing waterfalls and the mountains above
you.
On this amazing excursion you will:
- Soon after your arrival into Haines,
you will board a bus for your 30-minute
transfer to the river dock for a journey
into the heart of the Bald Eagle
Preserve.
- At the river dock, you will begin
the jet-boat portion of the excursion,
parting company with civilization for a
period of time, where you are taken into
the wilderness to view bald eagles and
their massive nests in their natural
habitat.
- Discover The Chilkat River area is
also abundant with moose, which are
spotted quite often along the
riverbanks.
- See brown and black bears, also
common to the area, may be spotted as
well.
- Have the Hess family as your hosts,
as they entertain you and share with you
their lifestyle as year-round residents
of Haines.
- At the end of the tour, you will be
served lunch at the jet boat dock after
the river portion of the excursion is
completed.
Note: Cameras are a must. Restrooms are
available at the river dock, on board the
M/V Fair-weather Express and at the pier in
Haines.
