Embark on Alaska's most intimate wildlife viewing adventure aboard a
deluxe, 12-person catamaran, and step ashore on a remote island to
explore the rugged coast.
On this excursion you will:

Be introduced to your knowledgeable Captain who will use his
understanding of tides, weather and seasonal evolutions to
design an expedition uniquely suited to the day.
Discover how the high speed and maneuverability of your
water jet-powered craft will allow you to explore areas
unreachable by conventional boats, and witness the very best of
Sitka Sound's marine and coastal wildlife.
Have the chance to see whales, sea otters, puffins and brown
bears that are just a few of the species that thrive in this
pristine environment.
As animals are sighted, the Captain will skillfully maneuver
the vessel to provide optimal viewing and your expert Naturalist
will explain their fascinating life cycles and behaviors.
Enjoy the encounter from the comfort of the spacious,
window-lined cabin, or experience it with all your senses from
out on deck.
Next, you will go ashore on a remote, uninhabited island.
Delight in a quiet exploration of colorful tide pools, trace the
meandering tracks of wildlife, or settle on a giant beach log to
reflect on the stunning beauty around you.
While beachcombing, keep an eye out for Japanese fishing
floats and other exotic flotsam.
Enjoy a delicious snack and the companionship of your fellow
explorers on the relaxing cruise back to Sitka.
Note: Minimum age to participate is 8 years old. Wear sturdy
footgear and warm clothing as this excursion operates in all weather
conditions. Participants should be in good health and able to walk
on uneven terrain. Guests are not allowed to remain on the vessel
when the group is participating on the beach walk, all guests have
to disembark.
Total hiking distance is up to ½ mile over wet, uneven terrain.
Rain poncho, binoculars, snacks and beverages are provided.
