Culatello: Although considered a Salami, not a ham, the delicious Culatello also has a revered place in Italian cuisine. Made with a boneless section of the muscular rear legs of the pig, this cured meat is made in the Zibello area of the Parma province. Placed inside a pig bladder and tied with string, then cured and aged for at least 12 months, Culatello has a rich, intense flavor and a deep red color. This is Italy's creme de la creme ham!

The best is perhaps Massimo Spigaroli's (from Departure's) - some aged up to 48 months, maybe more.

Enjoy a guided visit to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa combined with the pleasures of a Tuscan farmhouse where you can sample prized wines.

On this beautiful excursion you will:

Travel approximately 40 minutes by motorcoach and soon watch for your first view of the amazing tower from a distance, the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
During your 15-minute walk into the Square, you will pass many local stands and souvenir stalls that you can visit during your free time on your own after the guided tour.
Enter the Pisan Romanesque-style Cathedral and view the marvelous facade adorned colonnades, arcades and imposing bronze doors.
Visit the inside of the breathtaking circular Baptistery, with its Romanesque and Gothic designs.
Have the opportunity to take close-up pictures of a lifetime when you view the Leaning Tower of Pisa from the outside as well as drinking in the atmosphere and the beauty that is Miracle Square.
Travel for approximately 30 minutes by motorcoach to the wine area of Montecarlo di Lucca (Pinocchio's birthplace), passing medieval villages and green valleys covered in vineyards and olive trees, to a beautiful farmhouse to taste prized wines and other local specialties.
After a warm welcome by the owner of the vineyard, you will be shown this beautiful estate where some of the best Tuscan wine is produced. Learn about the wine making process and sample some of their house wines accompanied by salami, cheese and bread. You will also have the opportunity to purchase some of the wine.

NOTE: Entry into the Tower is very limited; tickets require advanced bookings and lines can be long. The Cathedral and Baptistery in Pisa belong to the Vatican, being an independent State they can close without any prior notice.

Minimum age for wine tasting is 21 years. Please have your shoulders and legs covered when entering religious buildings.

Comfortable shoes, water and a sun hat are recommended.

Ongoing restoration work is often carried out at various attractions visited. The itinerary of this tour may be reversed.

Children's prices in Pisa are considered to be between the ages of 4 to 8 years only.

There is uneven ground and some steps at the farmhouse. There is approximately 20 miles of the journey that is on the motorway, itinerary may be reversed for optimum guest satisfaction.
